CERN's Floodgates Keep Flowing --- September 28 1993
Since CERN made the World Wide Web public earlier this year, opening
the rest of the world to the digital landscape, there has been a
steady flow of new internet users. Even now, 5 months down the line,
that river shows no signs of slowing down, and has only been
bolstered by the introduction of new tools, such as NCSA Mosaic, but
I couldn’t wake you up no matter how hard I tried. So I got out of
bed and moved to open the window, and I could hear it much clearer
then. I peered out past the barn, and in the dim light of the moon I
watched the ground move up and down in long, deep breaths.
