KC-1200 Pushes REGNAD Past Compaq --- October 5 1993
Industry estimates suggest that REGNAD Computing has overtaken
personal computer juggernaut Compaq in single-model sales in the
North American market this year. Since the start of January, Compaq
has shipped an estimated 1.1 million personal computers in the
region, while REGNAD Computing has shipped roughly 1.3 million PCs
of its own in that same market, with an estimated 68% of those being
last year’s KC-1200 system. With this milestone the company now sits
as the third most successful North American PC company this year,
and is expected by some to seriously compete with Apple in the
coming months. The KC-1200’s aggressively low pricing strategy, a
recurring theme among REGNAD’s Kinetic Computer series, continues to
be a driving force behind its meteoric rise — an advantage made
possible by the continued integration of REGNAD’s ACL SuperSystem™
technology, which has virtually eliminated the need for many costly
components found in conventional PCs.
